Promoting Predatory Bird Life in Chicago

This website is about predatory birds in urban enviroments, particularly in Chicago.  It is also about the importance of having them in large cities. This site has ways to help, links to support organizations, and a Chicago bird key. Even the smallest action makes a difference.

About Me

My name is Mac Pendry, I am 12 years old, and I attend Roycemore Academy School. At school we do something called P3 (Personal Passion Project) where we work all year on a project. My project was “How might I promote and protect predatory bird life in Chicago.” So for this project I made this website to inform people on ways to help. I found my passion for this topic when I found bird feathers with my friend Doug MacKenzie, a bird expert. Predatory birds and raptors are so cool in my opinion and I hope to help them with my efforts.

Why it is important
Predatory birds are important to have in Chicago because they keep the rodent population down. Some also eat the scraps of food and clean up the streets. Mostly, they keep the pigeon and seagull population, often called sky rodents, under control.   To Learn More Click Here!
